To everything there is a season

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to break down, and a time to build up; …

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; …

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; …

A time to get, and a time to lose; ….

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: …

I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life…

April 2010, the world gained a beautiful life, my new grandson, Maddex Eli Palamar. What joy and beauty, witnessing him arrive in the world. a being of pure love...

At the same time, the world lost my dear nephew, Marlowe Paul Steegstra,
who left this world at the age of 53. He was like a brother to me; a very good man, who was loved by many. It felt like it was far too soon for him...

The only reason I think that God takes such good people from us is that we are often to forgetful to remember to cherish and love those around us. Death sometimes is the only way we stop and remember that.

Please shine your love in the world;
to those you love, and to those whose life seems very different from yours. Marlowe was a great example of that love...

Juanita,
I don't remember how I found your blog, but I have been following it for some time. You always have the most beautiful things to say and to show us, and I envy your life in the desert. Please know that my thoughts are with you--in both celebrating and mourning lives. Thank you for your wonderful perspective.

I just found out today that Marlowe passed away. I knew him when we were only teenagers at the Arrowhead camp (loved his dad!)- he hung around with us that were a little older...such a sweet guy. I lost track of him, then found him on the internet - living in the Fraser Valley and contacted him by email approximately 5 or so years ago - and he emailed with news about his family. Sorry to hear, it was a real shock.
